- Max number of students in each class is 9.
- All supplies are included in cost of class.
- These classes are for children ages 6 on up.
- Students must have completed kindergarten.
Playing with Polka Dots: Artist Yayoi Kusama is an avant-garde artist who is obsessed with dots. In this class, we will learn about her work and create our own using mixed-media, including wood and paint. We'll learn about basic art elements while having fun with dots. Ages 6+

Kokeshi Dolls(sculptures): The mini-sculptures we will be creating are based on a 200 year old traditional Japanese folk art. There are two types of Kokeshi dolls, traditional and modern. Modern styles evolved after WWII. The dolls will be made of wood, paint, and beads.
Each doll or character will be unique, just like the artist making it. Ages 6+

Op Art Spinners: Optical Art rose to popularity in the 1960's as a means of keeping the eyes and mind busy. We will be creating a kinetic optical illusion through layers, patterns, and movement. Ages 6+

Bookmaking: We will be making simple books during this class. Students can write and illustrate a story, make a social statement, use their artistic voice to say something about her or his passion, or simply take home a blank book to fill in at home. Ages 6+

Capturing Nature: In this class, we will be creating plaster casts of objects we collect on a short nature walk. This process was often used during the 19th century. One famous example is the relief or sculpture on l'Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Ages 6+

Still Life-studying the work of Paul Cezanne: Frenchman Paul Cezanne was a Post-Impressionist painter who is known for his use of color and repetitive brush strokes. We will be creating still-life paintings on canvas boards. Ages 6+
